Fun care tips for your DMK shoes and bags to maximise shelf life

4 Ways To Care For Your Shoes

Shoes Hates Moisture

Moisture can lead to bacterial growth, causing the shoe material to break down easily when you wear them.

Tips: Use desiccants like silica pouches or gels to keep your shoes moist and bacteria-free. If you don't have silica, you can stuff your shoes with newspapers and change them after a week or so!

Special note for leather/suede shoes: These babies aren't made for swimming or dipping, so keep them away during wet weather. If they do accidentally get wet, grab a towel, and quickly towel them dry. Park them in a cool, dry zone for some TLC. To soak up any lingering dampness, stuff 'em with newspaper or a towel.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

Extreme heat or direct sunlight can cause the shoe material to stiffen up, resulting in crumbling. Keep your shoes in a controlled environment, preferably indoors.

Shoe Odour Is Not A Vibe

We want your shoes to smell like an adventure, not odours.

Tips: Use dry tea bags to absorb odors in your shoes. They're natural deodorizers! Orange or lemon peels do the trick equally well.

More Love = Longer Shelf Life

Treat your shoes like your sole-mates. Wear them often (preferably at least once every two weeks) to prevent the materials from hardening and ultimately cracking.
