Seeking Validation: When Is It Too Much?

Written in collaboration with Resilience Collective

This post is written in partnership with Resilience Collective (RC), a non-profit mental health organisation and DMK's official mental health ally. Resilience Collective is dedicated to advocating for and supporting young adults with mental health challenges and conditions through peer support. Read here to find out more about Resilience Collective and what they do.

Peers (Persons in Recovery) may struggle with self-esteem and confidence issues, which may encourage them to seek and depend a lot on others for validation. In line with this year's International Women's Day theme, "Inspire Inclusion", understand what dependency on validation can look like and explore how it relates to mental health and self-perception. Learn what the actionable methods are in helping to cultivate self-validation and empower others to do the same.

Below is a snippet shared by members of their peer support group, Circles of Resilience, on the topic of Seeking Validation.
